Waste Management Campaign was organized by Green Catalyst Group with an aim to aware studentsabout different categories of waste such as Domestic waste, Factory waste, E-waste, Constructionwaste, Food waste, Bio-medical waste, etc. and also about the importance of waste management. Thefocus of the program was to make them aware on the ways the plastic and E-waste affects us and itsrecycling can reduce the quantity of waste going to landfill and can save resources. Since, E-wastelegislation in the country is in its infancy, the danger of contamination of water and the environmentfrom hazardous metals and chemicals through improper disposal of electronic-waste items washighlighted before it becomes too late. It was a valuable learning exercise in engaging with the students,teachers and college authorities and bringing awareness and concern amongst this very influentialsection of society for a responsible and safe disposal/recycling of e-waste and plastic waste.
