A 2-day training program was organized as a part of training and field trip of Green Catalyst to Shamlaji,Sabarkantha on 23-24 June 2018. A group of 20 Green Catalyst participated in the training at Shamlaji.On the first day of trip, Green Catalyst were taken for a visit to E-coli Waste Management Pvt. Ltd, aGPCB authorized E-waste recycler and Bio-medical waste management company situated inSabarkantha. Green Catalyst had been spreading awareness about E-waste since last year so it was agood exposure for them to understand in-depth about how E-waste is recycled. On the same day GreenCatalysts were also taken to visit the nearby checkdam to understand the importance of waterconservation for farmer and villagers. After the visit, Green Catalyst enjoyed some cultural activities andthen they were given a task by Mr. Mahesh Parmar, Paryavaran Mitra to plan for coming year.On the second day, training was organized. The aim of the training was to enhance an understanding onRTI (right to information) and PIL (Public Interest Litigation) and how they can be used in protectingenvironment. The session was taken by Mr. Mahesh Pandya from Paryavaran Mitra who has more than20 years of experience in the field of advocacy. After this session, Green Catalyst made theirpresentation about their next year’s plan and ways to strengthen the platform. They introduce the coreteam which will take care of Green Catalyst program in the coming year and appointed various roles tomembers. They also planned for new addition to program named as “Adopt a School Program”. Lastlythey planned for Youth Mega Forum that was to be held in July.
