A ‘Walk for Water’ rally was organized under the initiative ‘Save Water’ to aware the communityregarding the importance and scarcity of resource.Under the “Save Water” campaign, a “Walk for Water” Rally was organized by Green Catalyst Groupwhere the guest of honor for the rally were Prof. J.N. Joshi, A retired professor and HOD of L.D. Collegeof Engineering and Mr. Vivek Seth, an Environmental Engineer and Consultant. More than 150 studentsand people around the park gathered and participated in the Rally which started with hoisting a greenflag by Prof. J.N. Joshi followed by a play performed by the Green Catalyst team on Save Water at theAmphitheatre which was then followed by facilitating the guest with a Basil plant. Mr. Mahesh Pandya,Director of Paryavaran Mitra welcomed everyone and conveyed the objective behind the Rally. He theninvited Prof. Joshi to share his ideas about the importance to save water for the next generation. TheProcession started from Sabarmati Riverfront near Subhash Bridge wherein the students wore blueribbon, a color adopted by supporters of Save Water Campaign and were holding creative posters onSave Water to spread their message. The group of students marched to Gandhi Ashram, Sabarmati, arun of around 2.5km to spread the awareness about water conservation and also Gandhi’s philosophy ofoptimal use of water.
