Purpose of the Convention: To bring together youth to collectively stand against the environment threats through Sustainable development goals and making strategies to carry forward the same.
Overview:
Day 1:
i. Constitutional rights of youth and their status in current socio-political scenario in India by Arati Pandya, Executive Director, Centre for Education and Communication
ii. Rights of youth and its relation to SDG by Ashok Kumar, Executive Director, Dr. A.V Baliga Trust
iii. Our Concern, Our Priority Manish Jain, Associate professor, (Ambedkar University, Delhi)/Quality Education/ Environment Dr. Vijai Pratap Singh, Technical Expert-Climate Finance
iv. Village Haat ( it will consist of stalls from states + food or chat stalls + fun games other information stall on disaster management/ superstitions and realities/protection of animals like snakes)
v. State wise presentations (6 states- 15 minutes each) Street/stage plays/actions songs, mime, dance etc.
Day 2:
i. Dream of a just society -Understanding Inequalities/ Health and Food Security Asif Iqbal and Ms. Ranu Kulshreshtha-Dhanak / Mr. Rupesh- Koshish
ii. Visit to field of PACE- 2 groups of 40 youth will visit 2 project villages
Day 3:
i. Session on fake news vs. real news and its impact on the youth and society at large Pankaj Shrivastav, Founding editor, mediavigil.com)
ii. International Youth Network– Strengths and Challenges of Youth Network- Presentation of new SGs, discussion on youth network and sharing about International Youth Network Ashok Khanal (youth from Nepal) and Sharmili
iii. Revisiting Wardha Charter and way forward- Koel, Sampat, Ritu, Sharmili and Priscilla
iv. Youth will perform theatre at Ambedkar Park followed by discussion with acid attack survivors and high tea at Sheroes Cafe
Our Role:
i. Interaction with youths from other states.
ii. Skit was performed by Green Catalysts on environmental issue.
iii. Exhibition on “Waste to Wow” to emphasize reusing trash for better use of natural resources. We exhibited pen stands made from single use pens, plastic boat, planters, decorative items etc.
iv. Demonstration of different colored bins for different component of bio-medical waste was done.
v. Green Catalyst gave an interview on E-waste management in a video that will be sent to United Nations.
