School Program

Green Catalyst performed several one-time awareness programs at various schools around the city of Ahmedabad. However, the programs weren’t able to make a long term impact as the interaction was limited by time. Hence, this year we decided to launch a adopt-a-school program. In the program, we adopted 6 schools of Gujarat for educating and propagating environmental awareness through different hands-on activities throughout the year. The prime objective of this program is to improve quality of environmental education in the schools. Furthermore, it also aims in capacity building of Green Catalyst to widen their scope of work for the future endeavors.

The “Adopt a school” programme was started by Green Catalyst in July 2018. In this program, Paryavaran Mitra adopted total six schools across Ahmedabad and Anand. A total of 6 teams of Green Catalyst do programs in 6 different schools which are done throughout the year. Events on various environmental topics which included waste management, single use pen collection drive, E-waste collection drive, ozone day celebration, soil erosion process, wildlife week, radiation pollution, green audit etc are planned throughout the year in all the schools.
